This office is one of the few that can boast that Abraham Lincoln was one of our customers. The Clerk's Office has enjoyed a long history dating to 1821. We collect and distribute all money owed to the Court. The Circuit Clerk has financial as well as administrative and managerial duties. The Circuit Clerk is responsible for keeping the official record in all proceedings that come before the Sangamon County Courts. The hours of the Circuit Clerk's Office are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday (excluding Holidays). With the Illinois Supreme Court mandating electronic filing, our goal for our customers is to be sure this process is completed accurately and efficiently.
